Booking and Pricing

How can I make a booking?

You can book online 24/7 from our website or mobile application. You can instantly reserve your spot by selecting your preferred tour or holiday package, entering passenger information, and completing the payment step. Alternatively, you can create your booking through our customer representatives by calling our call center during business hours.

Important Note: All prices announced on our website are valid for the Balkan Market. The hotel may request an additional payment upon check-in if a Bulgarian ID is not presented.

You can quickly and easily request a booking from our website. To do this, use the search engine on the first page:

In the fields, first select your desired transportation or program type: without transportation (button "Hotel"), with organized transport (button "Hotel + Bus" / "Hotel + Plane"), or an excursion program. By default, the "Hotel" button is selected when viewing on a desktop computer. Then, select your desired destination, departure city (if you chose a trip with organized transport), duration of stay/departure date, number of rooms, number of guests in each room, and the age of children, if any, in the respective fields. Finally, click the magnifying glass button to see the results of your search.

What is the pricing for children?

Child pricing varies according to the policies of the hotel and airline. Special discounts are generally applied for infants aged 0-2 and children aged 2-12. When you correctly enter the ages of the children during the tour search, our system will automatically calculate the most current and discounted price.

Do the offers/prices have an expiration date?

Yes. As flight and hotel prices are dynamic, the prices you see on our website are instantaneous and limited by availability. Prices can change rapidly, especially during early booking and campaign periods. When you find an offer you like, we recommend completing your booking quickly to not miss out on the price advantage.

When and how can I purchase optional excursions?

You can select optional excursions online when booking your main tour package or add them later from the "My Bookings" page. Additionally, you can purchase optional excursions through our guide at the destination during your holiday. Purchasing in advance ensures your spot is guaranteed.

When will I know which hotel I'll be staying at?

If you have purchased a special campaign tour such as "Promo Room" or "Hotels in the Same Category", the name of your hotel will be communicated to you 24 to 48 hours before the start of your trip. If you have purchased a standard tour package, your hotel is determined at the time of booking and is written in your documents.

Payment Procedures

What are your payment methods?

You can pay via Credit Card on our website, or with Debit Cards and Cash at our office, or by Bank Transfer. All online payments are protected by 3D Secure security infrastructure.

How does the payment schedule and process work?

The payment process varies depending on the type of your tour and your travel date:

  • Standard Booking: The full amount of the booking is usually charged at the time of booking.
  • Pre-paid (Option) Booking: You secure your spot by paying a certain percentage of the booking fee (e.g., 30%). You must pay the remaining amount by a certain day before your trip (e.g., 21 days). The final payment date will be communicated to you in the contract and via email.

If the time until the check-in date is less than 21 days, the full amount is due. If you wish to make a booking for a near-term period where the hotel's cancellation periods are already in effect, payment must be made before we can confirm the booking. Cancellation periods are published on our website at the end of each offer. A pre-payment is required to guarantee your booking request, as hotels will charge a penalty for a possible cancellation after a booking is made within this period. We generally recommend that you make the payment as soon as possible and then send us the payment document, so we can process the booking and get it confirmed by the hotel as quickly as possible. If the hotel sells all its available rooms in the meantime and cancels the booking, you have the option to choose another hotel or have us refund the amount paid.

Travel Documents and Visa

When will I receive my travel documents (flight ticket, voucher)?

All your travel documents (flight tickets, hotel accommodation voucher, transfer details, and tour program) will be sent collectively to your registered email address or your preferred communication channel approximately 2-3 days before your travel date.

Do I need a visa for the country I am visiting?

Whether a visa is required for the destination country depends on the current visa regime applicable to Bulgarian citizens.

What should be the validity period of my passport when traveling abroad?

As a general rule, your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your planned return date for international travel. Countries requiring a visa (especially the Schengen area) pay close attention to this rule. We strongly advise against traveling with a passport that is about to expire.

Changes, Cancellations, and Insurance

How and under what conditions can I make changes to my booking?

Change requests must be reported to us by the contract holder. An administrative fee of 50 BGN is applied for each change. When adding a person or room to the booking, changing a person or room in the booking, or changing the period, the change is confirmed at the current price. Any subsequent airline taxes or fees for additional tours you purchase may cause the price to change. You can trust that Megalo Travel will share this information with you in advance.

What are your cancellation and refund conditions?

We only accept booking cancellation requests in writing from the contract holder to our email address info@megalotravel.com. The booking is cancelled after you confirm in writing that you are aware of the cancellation penalties. The standard cancellation conditions are as follows, unless another cancellation policy is specified in the contract:

  • If cancelled up to 45 days before the travel date: a penalty of 10% of the total booking price is applied.
  • From 44 days to 22 days before the travel date: a penalty equal to the deposit amount.
  • From 21 to 14 days before the travel date: a penalty of 70% of the total booking price.
  • Less than 14 days before the travel date: a penalty of 100% of the total booking price is applied.

Despite these standard conditions, every cancellation is discussed with the respective hotel, and we try to minimize or eliminate the penalty. The minimum amount we retain upon cancellation is 10% of the total value of the booking.

What is the 'Cancellation Protection Plan' and why should I get it?

This is an additional service, different from standard travel insurance.

The Cancellation Protection Plan gives you the right to cancel your tour without penalty for any reason (health issue, job change, personal reasons, etc.) up to 24 hours before departure. When you purchase this package, the full amount of the tour price you paid is refunded to you. It allows you to plan your travel with peace of mind, especially against the possibility of your plans changing. We highly recommend it.
